DOX Productions announced today that it has entered into a Joint Venture with Jutland Limited, David Starkey’s production company. The joint venture, Redhouse DOX Limited, will produce high quality History films, initially for broadcast on Channel 4.
David Sington, director of DOX Productions and Director of the award-winning film IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON, said, ‘ We see a great opportunity to work with David Starkey to make history films that tell compelling stories and are produced to the highest standards, with David and other presenters. In particular, we want to make David’s film’s as successful in North America as they are here in the UK.’
David Starkey has a contract to present six hours of programming for Channel 4 for broadcast in 2009, which will be produced by Redhouse DOX.
Starkey said, ‘I found David Sington’s collaboration on my Monarchy series for Channel 4 invaluable, and we decided to put our resources together with a view to producing the absolutely best history programmes that audiences could wish to see.’
Redhouse DOX will operate from Kent in South East England, and is currently contracted to produce the next six hours of programmes to be presented by David Starkey for Channel 4.
